Dan and I had such a lovely elopement this past winter in a bucket list location – Bora Bora! When Victoria and Randal first told us about their destination elopement, we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it. These two have been in the spotlight throughout their relationship – Randal Grichuk is a baseball player with the Toronto Blue Jays and Victoria, previously Victoria Joy Sharpe was Miss Arizona in 2015. They are also so often focused on giving to others (especially Victoria, who is a social worker). So we loved that they were taking the opportunity to create a celebration for just the two of them away from all the fanfare.

THAT PULL YOU IN
Marriage is a once in a lifetime event.
You want this moment in your life to be full of exceptional storytelling and not full of regrets over staying surface level.
We are experts at artistically crafting stories that pull you in. Creating imagery of authentic moments that transport the audience (your friends and family) right into the center of your relationship.
That overwhelming feeling you two feel right now... you want them to feel it too – through photos and film that pull you in.
For the weekend, Randal and Victoria treated themselves to a stay at the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora. We all stayed in huts on the water (like physically on the water on stilts) with the most breathtaking views and calming ocean sounds, so it was a wonderful way to set the tone for the whole weekend – relaxing, laid-back luxury, with a focus on staying present and connected. We really got to know each other while exploring the resort together and finding all the best spots. Really, the whole weekend felt like a big double date, as we shared meals, laughter, and dreams together.
Victoria and Randal
Although our website says I am a Orange County and Los Angeles wedding photographer, I really love destination weddings and travel shoots like this because it gives us a chance to get to know each couple on a deeper level, which means the wedding experience is that much more emotional for us. After all, we are a bit of hopeless romantics. Victoria and Randal told us about the 9 years they had known each other and their excitement at building their future together. And when both of them teared up as they read each other’s notes on morning of the wedding, and again during their vows, we couldn’t help but get choked up too. These two have been through so much together and we were just so honored to be a part of this next chapter. The whole day was the epitome of romance – they even rowed out on a little boat to their dinner on a private island, where fireworks added the last touch of magic to their celebration. It all just felt really sweet and intimate and grounded in the assurance that these two were meant to be. P.S. This is one of the top reasons I love Dan’s videography – you can really feel all those emotions shine through!
The day after a wedding we always feel a shift from excitement to a feeling of calm and comfortability, and we saw this shift in Victoria and Randal as well as we captured their catamaran and snorkeling mini honeymoon adventure. We were so honored to go through the whole experience with these two – from pre-wedding excitement to sweet ceremony emotions and that post-ceremony feeling of calm when you know you’re with your person. These two deserve the world and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
